Child Welfare
The School Nurse makes regular check up visits to school. Parents are always invited to attend these medicals and discuss problems with the School Nurse.
If children are ill in school we try to contact the parents at home or at work by telephone, therefore it is important to keep us informed of any change in contact details.
If a child is going to be absent from school for the day we ask the parents to telephone before school begins to let us know.
The office staff are willing to administer some medicines but ask you to fill in a consent form detailing the dosage required. All medication will be kept in the school office.
If children are injured at school, they will be attended to by our administrative staff in the office, or during lunchtime by the senior lunchtime supervisor, all of whom have received First Aid training. If there is concern about any injury, parents will be contacted. It is our policy to inform parents if a child has a head injury of any kind.
The following members of staff are first aiders:
Liz Watson, Jill Hughes, Faye Stevens, Lorraine West, Sandra Neal, Lynette Heynes, Sadie Shipley and Judy Wood.
