LEAVE OF ABSENCE

It is the parents’ legal duty to ensure their child attends school regularly. We prefer that parents avoid taking annual holidays during term time, as this can be detrimental to the child’s education.

Where holidays need to be taken in term time we ask parents to discuss the best time with the class teacher – it would usually be late in the summer term.

Times to avoid:

September, as this is when the new school year starts and the child enters a new year group
During the whole of Year 2 and Year 6 as the children will be preparing for their SATs.

We ask families who always take their annual holiday in term time to seriously consider the implications, particularly if their child finds learning difficult.

Please do NOT book your holiday until you have discussed the timing with Mrs Hodgson.
